We understand that your pets are more than that to you. Whether it is your cat who snuggles with you through bad breakups or your dog who brightens up your day the moment you walk in through the door - they play a very important role in our lives.
But no matter how much you love them, it is hard not to be annoyed when you have to clean pet hair off your sofa or bed for the fifth time that week, isn’t it? And if you don’t have a “special, state-of-the-art” vacuum cleaner, the job becomes even harder.
If you’re struggling with keeping your sofa and bed clean and fur-free, don’t worry. We’re here to help.
Here are five simple tips to keep your bed and sofa free of pet hair.
Tip 1: Cover it up
Before we get into how you can remove pet hair, have you tried using a blanket or cover for your furniture? There are a wide variety of options available, and they are much easier to throw in the wash once a week than constantly having to get fur off your sofa and bed.
Tip 2: Use a roll of tape
Obviously, having a lint remover at home makes the job of removing fur from your bed or sofa relatively easier. But when in a pinch, a roll of tape works as well, if not better. And they don’t run out as fast either.
Tip 3: Make your vacuum cleaner more effective
If you’ve spent the last half hour vacuuming your carpet with no success, this is for you. Add a spoonful of liquid fabric softner to a spray bottle, fill it with water and spritz the mixture on your carpet. This will make the hair rise to the surface, allowing you to pick it all up much more easily with your vacuum.
Tip 4: Use a damp cloth
If you still have fur on your sofa and bed after vacuuming, a damp cloth can be a great help, especially in getting into those hard to reach crevices. Just make sure your cloth isn’t too wet, otherwise, it will just leave wet sploshes everywhere you wipe.
Tip 5: Get a humidifier
Humidifiers aren’t just great at keeping your skin hydrated in dry weather, it can help you keep pet hair off your furniture as well. This is because a humidifier keeps loose fur from clinging to the surface of your bed or sofa, making it that much easier to clean.
These are great tips, aren’t they?
